If I were you, I would not be able to smile while letting friends know that I had cancer.
If I were you, I would not be able to make jokes while lying on a hospital bed with transfusion tube in a hand.
If I were you, I would not be able to show excitement to wear wig to cover losing hair.
If I were you, I would not be able to laugh while showing friends a hand swollen with needle holes and darkened with chemo.
If I were you, I would not be able to lengthen painful life to comfort my beloveds.
If I were you, I would not be able to convince friends that it’s time they let me go.
Friend,
I can imagine how much more difficult to smile than cry.
I can imagine how much more difficult to stand than fall.
I can imagine how much more difficult to live than die.
Thanks for the days we were together and the days you made us happy even at times you were suffering.
I am sure you rest in peace.
(To my friend who died this morning on March 9.)
